The School of Oil and Gas is the largest educational unit created in the structure of the university in accordance with the order No. 130 dated 08.12.2016 through the merger of three faculties: Field-Geological, Petro-Mechanical and Petro-Technological

The creation of the School is not only an increase in the status of oil and gas specialties, but also a concentration of material, scientific research and human resources for the training of qualified petroleum engineers.

The School is located in the building of the educational building number 1 and has its own scientific research laboratories, rooms for educational and practical classes equipped with the necessary modern equipment.

The School of Oil and Gas is a research and educational center for the training of competitive personnel distinguished by a high general personal culture and creative thinking, ability to continuous growth. The School provides ample opportunities for intellectual, spiritual, moral, professional development and lays the foundation for successful activities in a rapidly changing world.

The priority areas of the Institute's development, at which the main managerial efforts, financial and human resources are concentrated, are:

  • the development of industry in the Chechen Republic, including technologies for gas oil refining processes, machinery manufacturing, food biotechnologies, food safety, technologies for prospecting, exploration, development of oil and gas fields, their production and processing;
  • the development of the technological infrastructure of the Chechen Republic, including ensuring energy efficiency, energy conservation, energy and environmental safety, transport and transportation and logistics systems.

Currently, the teaching process at the School is carried out by 142 teachers and staff, including 13 doctors of sciences and 46 candidates of sciences.

Teachers of the School’s departments, researchers, post-graduate students and students constantly take part in all-Russian and international scientific and practical conferences, scientific seminars and symposia. The results of research and scientific research work of the professors and teachers of the School are published in monographs, academic papers of Russian and international conferences, symposia.

The School of Oil and Gas has set itself the task in all areas to restore the former ties with scientific and industrial institutions and enterprises of the country.

At the School an important attention will be paid to the quality of practical training of the students. Agreements for conducting practical training with more than one hundred government agencies and enterprises have been concluded.

It is gratifying that after completing practical training, many of our graduates were invited by our partners to work continuously.

Moreover, employers began to take a direct part in the educational process. Highly qualified specialists are involved in teaching activities concurrently, and representatives of government agencies and enterprises recruiting our graduates are included in the state certification commissions.

In addition, students of the School take an active part in public, mass cultural and sports work carried out both at the university and in the region and abroad. They have at their disposal a magnificent assembly hall and sports halls, sports equipment for practically all sports, as well as an unlimited opportunity to use the Grand Sports Palace, an open stadium and various sports fields.
